| Philippe Eullaffroy was born in Troyes, France, and moved to Canada in 2005. At 46, he was named head coach of the Montreal Impact Academy, on March 17, 2010. He became on the same occasion the first director of player development to be hired full-time in the history of the club. In 2009, in his first season as head coach of the Trois-Rivières Attak, Eullaffroy led the team to the regular season championship, as well as to the first playoff championship in club history. That same year, he received the Coach of the Year Award from the Canadian Soccer League. As head coach of the U-18 Quebec team, he earned the Gold Medal during the Canada Games in August 2009. From 2005 to 2008, he was head coach of the McGill University Redmen and was elected Coach of the Year three times. Before settling in Quebec, he was coach for the Stade de Reims and Troyes professional club academies, in France, from 1999 to 2005. As a player, he spent most of his career with the professional club Troyes, from 1984 to 1991. He was elected by the fans to the team of the century and set a record after scoring the fastest goal in club history. He owns a UEFA A License and a National B License (Canada). Eullaffroy has a scientific training and holds a Masters degree in Marine Biology from the Université de Paris Pierre et Marie Curie, as well as a Ph.D in Environmental Toxicology from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQÀM). |
