INTERNATIONAL
Played 10 games in international competitions such as the Libertadores Cup, the Sudamericana Cup and the Mercosur Cup... Was on Argentina’s U20 national team that was finalist at the Sudamericana Cup in Ecuador in 2001... That team went on to win the World Youth Championship that same year.
PROFESSIONAL
This left-footed, offensive midfielder started playing soccer in the professional ranks in 2000, with San Lorenzo, in Argentina... Played over 70 A-division games in Argentina... In 2001, was part of the San Lorenzo team that reached the National A Division closing tournament, and helped the club achieve its first international success by winning the Mercosur Cup... Played for Atlético Rafaela, one of the leading city clubs in Santa Fe, in 2003… Came back to the San Lorenzo team in 2004 before joining Argentinos Juniors, Diego Maradona’s first soccer club, in 2005... Was recruted by the Impact during a scouting trip in Argentina, in January 2006… Played his first game in an Impact uniform in the April 23 season opener in Miami... Won the Impact’s Newcomer of the Year award and was selected on the USL D1 Second All-League Team following the regular season... Played in 19 games and spent 1,427 minutes on the field in regular-season action... 2009 SEASON
Ended the regular season with one goal and three assists, for five points in 23 games, including 22 as a starter (1,747 minutes)… Missed nine games due to two thigh injuries, but was one of four Impact players to earn 20 starts or more over the regular season…Scored his only goal of the season on September 2 at Saputo Stadium in a 1-0 victory against the Carolina RailHawks… Clinched his first playoff championship, after playing all six games and 494 minutes… Signed a two-year agreement with the Impact January 13, 2010. |
