MIDFIELDER SANDRO GRANDE RELEASED
MONTREAL – The Montreal Impact announced Monday morning that midfielder Sandro Grande has been released and will not be back with the team.
The club took this decision following the aggression on team captain and player coach Mauro Biello on July 11, during the match in Minnesota.
“Sandro’s act was completely unacceptable and our organization does not tolerate such behaviour,” declared the President of the Impact Joey Saputo. “We have therefore taken the necessary disciplinary measures. Regardless of the circumstances or the player involved, violence is not accepted in our club.”
This is the second incident this season involving Grande, who had also been suspended by the club in May for breaching a team rule.
